Breakdance Revolution for the Nintendo Wii

Breakdance Revolution

A new Dance Dance Revolution  spinoff, Breakdance Revolution, is being released by Konami for the Nintendo Wii in an attempt to take back the music gaming market. The game will feature hip hop and rap music, as opposed to the rock music that currently dominates the music gaming industry. While the original DDR came with a dance pad, Breakdance Revolution will  come with a wearable beanie and a flattened cardboard box as a dancing pad, both with wireless sensors to detect the player’s fly moves.

Donkey Kong Renews Feud With Mario

Mario and DK

After years of peace between the Biggie Donkey Kong and Tupac Mario clans, a feud has broken out once again after an attempt on Mario’s life was made while he was on the way to see Donkey Kong. The attempt took place in the lobby of Donkey Kongs’s recording studio, but fortunately failed. The attackers all threw barrels at Mario, thus causing Mario to blame Donkey Kong for the attack. Days after the attack, Mario released a song off his upcoming album saying that he had slept with Candy Kong, Donkey Kong’s current girlfriend. Fans of each clan want retaliation and revenge. What will happen next remains unknown.

FIFA Series Cancelled, America Doesn’t Notice

FIFA

EA has announced that the FIFA series of soccer video games will be canceled and FIFA 2010 will not be released due to financial pressures caused by the global recession. One spokesman went on record saying, “We are all in hard times together and EA Sports cannot afford to make any mistakes that could result in a financial loss. Seriously, who plays soccer anymore anyway? Be sure to pick up Madden 2010 though!”

Origins of Waluigi

Ever think to yourself: “Hey, where the f@#$ did Waluigi come from?” Well, we can tell you.

Originally meant to be an evil version of Luigi, just as Wario was an evil version of Mario, Waluigi was hired out of the bad part of France (you know the part) and cast as Luigi’s nemis. Whenever he’s not not playing in a lame Mario sports game, Luigi enjoys playing D&D with Magikoopa and going to the bars with with his unconfirmed brother, Wario. Although he has never actually been in any Mario or Wario game that involved any plot whatsoever, he has plans to commit some evil deeds to get his own game soon (preferably an FPS). These plans include everything from kidnapping princesses, to exposing himself in public to get some media attention (kind of like the picure above…but…different).

So there you have it, the origins of Waluigi. If you know anymore of his back story, feel free to let us know.

Crazy Hand ODs; Found Dead in Strip Club Bathroom

Crazy Hand RIP
Crazy Hand was pronounced dead at 3:05am this morning as a result of a massive cocaine overdose in the White Glove Gentleman’s Club last night. Apparently Crazy Hand had taken five times the fatal amount of cocaine and collapsed in the men’s room after patrons had noticed he was sweating and twitching more than usual. He was rushed to the ER, but died in the ambulance on the way there.

The passing of the famous Crazy Hand has come as no surprise though. As a notorious abuser of narcotics, Crazy Hand got his start as Michael Jackson’s left hand. This is when Crazy Hand first came into contact with the white lady, but as Micheal’s career fell, so did Crazy Hand’s. His career peaked again after a few years and he was featured in such video games as Super Smash Brother: Melee, but was extremely hard to get on the set for production due to his unprofessional punctuality and because of the fact that he was constantly tweaked on cocaine. The producers wanted him gone, but his brother, Master Hand, fought for him and even managed to get him a reprisal guest role on Super Smash Brothers: Brawl. After Brawl, he was too far gone though and started a downward spiral to his final fate.

Crazy Hand always lived life to the fullest and he will be missed. In commemoration of Crazy Hand, July 30th will be Crazy Hand Day at the A Button from here on out. Use his uninhibited ways as lesson to us all and bless his fiery soul.

Starcraft vs Halo

Starcraft vs Halo

It’s the match you’ve been waiting for, Halo vs Starcraft, in the ultimate battle royal. Because of the striking parallelism of the two teams, the matches should be fairly even. The event will kick off with the Flood vs the Zerg to see which villainous organic species will reign king. Next, the Covenant will face off against the Protoss in an energy weapon battle full of invisibility and deception. Next, the Spartans will square off in a bloody bullet offensive against the Terran. Finally, the main match up will feature Master “Macho” Chief, the leader of the Halo team, against Sarah “Sick-nasty” Kerrigan, leader of the Starcraft team, in a one-on-one fight to the death. Who will claim bragging rights in this universal smack-down? Tune in to The A Button tonight at 8pm EST to watch the carnage live! (Ask your local cable provider for availability of The A Button Network in your area)

Guitar Hero: ABBA

Guitar Hero: ABBA

The original Guitar Hero was aimed at teenagers to give them a way to play and interact with music in a fun video game format. Now that the Guitar Hero franchise has built itself up, Activision is spreading out who they market towards. They are slowly pulling middle aged fogies into the gaming market as a target demographic. It started with Guitar Hero: Aerosmith, but only captured the cool middle aged people that like music that is played with instruments. They are now attempting to capture everyone else who was 18 in 1972 and wore platform shoes (and didn’t die from embarrassment). Guitar Hero: ABBA is the spawn of this branched out marketing ploy and seems to only use the microphone in-game, thus making it a glorified karaoke system that can actually measure how much you suck at “Dancing Queen.” All we can say here at the A Button is this: finally, a game we can all agree to never buy or to at least carry home in a brown bag to hide our shame if we do.
